During Paris Fashion Week, FRED Jewelry featured a sculpture by Japanese artist Toshio Iezumi as part of the international launch of its new high jewelry collection.
The sculpture, F.230901 (Beginning of the World), was presented within Crystalline Joy, one of the collection’s thematic chapters inspired by the shimmering light of the Mediterranean at sunrise. Displayed alongside a floral arrangement and an open inspiration book, the work formed part of a carefully curated scenography surrounding the jewelry collection.
The choice reflected the visual language of Toshio Iezumi’s work. Crafted from polished flat glass and mirror, the sculpture captures and refracts light through translucent layers and flowing contours that evoke the movement of water. Its luminous green tones resonated naturally with the tourmalines, diamonds, and carved mother-of-pearl featured in the Crystalline Joy collection.
For us, this collaboration illustrates how contemporary art can enrich a narrative environment when it is selected for the meaningful connections it creates with another creative universe. Beyond its material qualities, the sculpture shared with FRED’s creations a common sensitivity to light—its reflections, its subtle nuances, and its ability to transform matter into emotion.
