Paris takes centre stage in the international art world once again! This week, the French capital hosts Art Basel Paris 2026, bringing together leading galleries, collectors, curators and art enthusiasts from around the globe. Despite an early closure amid social tensions, the fair offers a vibrant showcase of modern and contemporary art. We visited the Grand Palais to discover this year’s highlights and share a selection of the artworks and installations that caught our attention.

This week, Paris welcomes a new edition of Art Basel beneath the glass roof of the Grand Palais. Bringing together 211 galleries from 41 countries and territories, the fair gathers artists, gallery owners, collectors and art enthusiasts around a selection of modern and contemporary artworks.

Featuring internationally renowned galleries, emerging artists and distinctive curatorial projects, this edition showcases the richness of the art scene. Beyond the Grand Palais, the Public Program extends the experience to several iconic locations across the capital, with installations that create a dialogue between art, architecture and urban space.

However, this year’s edition is taking place against a backdrop of heightened social tensions. Originally scheduled to run until October 25, the fair will close early today, Friday, October 23, at 7 p.m., due to demonstrations planned for the following day and concerns about potential unrest.

Despite these unusual circumstances, Art Basel Paris remains a major event on the international art calendar. We invite you to discover the highlights of this year’s edition through our selection.
