As we mentioned in our previous article, our next art discovery is in Paris! The highly anticipated fair Art Basel Paris takes place this week at the Grand Palais, reopened after 4 years of renovation. The fair has transformed the city into a vibrant hub for contemporary art, attracting collectors, curators, and enthusiasts from around the world.
This year, Art Basel Paris showcases an exceptional array of galleries, with over 190 participants presenting an eclectic mix of contemporary works. Apart from the main exhibition sector, the fair presents the “Emergence” sector, with young and emerging artists, and the “Premise” sector, with singular curatorial proposal that may include art from before 1900. Outside the Grand Palais, a public program featuring outdoor sculptures and installations has turned the Parisian streets into an open-air exhibition, inviting locals and visitors alike to engage with the contemporary artworks.
Paris, with its rich artistic heritage and important cultural institutions, serves as the perfect setting for this event. The interplay between historical context and contemporary practice is present throughout the fair and its program. As we continue to explore this exciting gathering, we are thrilled to share our favourite art discoveries with you.
