Whatever the motivation that drives each artist to work with a certain material (a desire to acquire an almost intimate knowledge of glass for Toshio Iezumi, the thrill of discovery for Tom Price when creating a dialogue between tar and resin…) their work demonstrates a mastery that commands admiration.
