Photography – Bernhard Lang and Matthieu Venot : a graphic dialogue

This online exhibition is designed as a dialogue between two contemporary photographers, Bernhard Lang from Germany and Matthieu Venot from France. These two artists share an approach to photography that focuses on shapes and colors, resulting in a graphic dimension that frequently verges on abstraction.
Bernhard Lang takes aerial shots of landscapes altered by human intervention that, seen from the sky, appear both surprising and seductive. Meanwhile, Matthieu Venot favors tightly framed compositions that carve urban architecture into juxtapositions of swathes of color that are equal parts pop and minimalism.
