Works on paper
In this thematic, we present a selection of works on paper whose common denominator is the finesse which the medium allows.
Using Indian ink, Japanese painter Lumi Mizutani pays tribute to the nature of Japan and depicts abstract landscapes through effects of superpositioning and juxtapositioning. The works of Japanese painter Hachiro Kanno also shines a spotlight on the work of Indian ink, enhanced by touches of acrylic.
The use of acrylics also characterizes the work of Christophe Dupety. His depictions of bullfighting, a controversial subject, are examined here in a dynamic way.
And lastly, the medium of paper is perfect for the exploration of techniques like engraving, black chalk and pastel, as illustrated by the works of Calo Carratala, Guy Oberson and Franco Salas Borquez.
