About the work :

Dancing crane II is a painting by Franco-Japanese contemporary artist Lumi Mizutani. This small size painting, in coloured pigments and Indian ink, is of two red-crowned cranes. They are among the largest birds in the world, with long necks and long legs giving them a very graceful appearance. They have the peculiarity of being white and black with a small red part on the top of the head, earning them the name of ‘vermilion-topped cranes’ in China.

In her figurative paintings, the artist frequently pays tribute to Japan and its traditional landscapes, particularly those of Higashiyama-ku in Kyoto, also Ueno in Tokyo. Plum trees, Cherry trees, weeping willows…  trees and nature play a very important part in the artist's work.

This artwork is sold framed and delivered with a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist.
