About the work :

Bagamoyo Fishermen 3 is a figurative engraving by Spanish contemporary artist Calo Carratalá from the "Tanzania" series.

This picture represents a fisherman half immersed in water and fishing. The artist captures the fisherman's movements and the ripples in the water, with an artistic approach similar to Impressionism. Bagamoyo is a town in Tanzania, located along the cost of the Indian Ocean. Calo Carratalá explored the country to find new subjects. The artist takes great pleasure to be constantly on the lookout for new themes during his travels. He catalogs the entire world through his notes and photos - drawing becomes therefore his way of reliving his travels.

Edition of 30, each one signed and numbered by the artist. The artwork is sold unframed.

Dimensions of the artwork: 37,5 cm x 53,5 cm

Dimensions of the engraving: 17 cm x 27,5 cm

Calo Carratalá is a Spanish contemporary artist, based in Valencia, specializing in landscape painting. With a passion for traveling, Calo Carratalá has taken in a multitude of landscapes: from the Amazon to Colorado, the Alps and the Pyrenees and up to the forests of Norway. Armed with sketchbook the artist immortalizes on the spot the sensations he obtains from the various panoramas. Similar to the artists of the romantic era, the type of nature that Calo carratalá paints is troubling, perhaps even worrying, and really grandiose inciting both admiration and contemplation.
