about:

Walter Peter Brenner is a sculptor who lives and works in Guatemala City.

Born in Guatemala in 1965, he is also a Swiss citizen. He’s been an artist for 25 years and sculptor for 17 years. His father, Walter Peter Koller a prominent artist in Guatemala, gave him the taste for drawing and painting. Walter Peter Brenner studied architecture at Francisco Marroquín University in Guatemala. He then studied sculpture at the School of Fine Arts in Zürich. To complete his artistic background, he got interested in Visual Arts, which he studied at the Superior School of Art (USAC) in Guatemala.

He created the art school 'Arts Artis' in 1993 and is both director and teacher there. Walter Peter Brenner has had seven solo exhibitions, two of which were in Switzerland, and has taken part in about forty group exhibitions.

He has also made a name for himself being the sculptor behind “The Colussus of Inmaco”, a monumental terra-cotta statue, thirty meters in height, which adorns one of the entrances of Guatemala City. He started to work on this piece in 1997 and completed it in 2002.
