About the work :

Untitled I is an ink painting by contemporary Franco-Japanese artist Lumi Mizutani from the series Mu Detachment from the World series. In this series, the absence of colors leaves room for a precise work on the balanced combination between Chinese ink and water. In the Buddhist culture, Zen « Mu » literally means 'nothing' and is used in Daoism to mean 'emptiness'.

With these painting the artist pays tribute to the nature of Japan, especially its flora characterized by bamboos, tall grasses and plum trees. By their accumulation and juxtaposition branches, sprouts and leaves become abstract motifs.

Dimensions of the artwork mounted on the roll: 196,5  x 45,7 cm.
