About the work :

Heïdrun is an artwork by French contemporary sculptor Marine de Soos. This bronze sculpture is from the “Figures” series. This figurative artwork represents a young man smiling and happy, simply dressed, walking with a baby goat on his shoulders. Heïdrun is the name of a goat in Nordic mythology. The artist gets her inspiration from real or imaginary scenes. This sculpture could be placed in an outside setting.

Original artwork:  signed and numbered sculpture in a limited edition's run of 8 plus 4 artist's proofs.

Marine de Soos has long sustained an openness to the world which permeates her career and her work. For each sculpture the artist draws her inspiration from her souvenirs, those of African and Asian landscapes. Whatever the initial image, there is always an emotion attached: "I can only work when I am in an emotional state," says the artist. Emotion as sole guide and at the finish line, an invitation on a voyage steeped in a unique poetry which sends the observer into a state of contemplation.
