Chat perché is an artwork by French contemporary sculptor Marine de Soos. 

A figurative sculpture of a tree with powerful roots and branches filled with human figures. These small faceless figures are seated, standing or lying along the branches. The artwork testifies to the tenderness of Marine de Soos artistic world but not without humour, with a direct reference to the well-known children's game that lends its name to the sculpture. Exotic overtones also emerge, with a travel invitation always articulated in the artist’s artwork.

Original artwork:  signed and numbered sculpture in a limited edition's run of 8 plus 4 artist's proofs. Bronze patina is handmade and subject to variations. 

Marine de Soos has long sustained an openness to the world which permeates her career and her work. For each sculpture the artist draws her inspiration from her souvenirs, those of African and Asian landscapes. Whatever the initial image, there is always an emotion attached: "I can only work when I am in an emotional state," says the artist. Emotion as sole guide and at the finish line, an invitation on a voyage steeped in a unique poetry which sends the observer into a state of contemplation.
