About the work :

160.07.11 is a photograph by contemporary artist Klaus Kampert from the series « Tribute to Modigliani ». Working only with the body and the movement, Klaus Kampert reveals in his art works, the emotion that they convey. Thereby Klaus Kampert works almost exclusively with ballet dancers capable of great physical prowess.

In this series he pays tribute to the painter Amsdeo Clemente Modigliano. Just like Klaus Kampert, this painter used to consider himself first a sculptor before focusing on drawing and painting of nudes and portraits while Klaus Kampert settled on photography. The postures of the model are like Modigliani's sitting nudes. A white sheet draped covers the floor and blends into a uniform grey background.
