About the work :

154.08.11 is a work by contemporary photographer Klaus Kampert, taken from the 'Dancing the Cubes' series.

The work of Klaus Kampert is focused on nude photography, trying to capture an emotion from the bodies of his models which far outstrips the simple physical dimension. To him the body is the casing of the soul: by working on the body language, he strives to capture both casing and soul, in each and every studio photograph.

In this series of black and white photographs, the artist continues his pictorial work in close collaboration with professional dancers. The artist’s favoured models pose under his photographer’s aesthetic directions. In this image, a dancer with masterful grace and poise, is playing with three stacked cubes shared within the composition, the only props used in this series. The photographer favours these athletic models because of their elegant mastery. “When I work together with dancers, I don´t have to explain what a perfect image looks like, they already know it. Also, their bodies speak of the permanent struggle for many years. They are slim, toned, they have a lean muscle structure and a high flexibility.  Professional dance is not a profession but an attitude towards life. All these accomplishments are very much in accord with my work.”

Prints of Klaus Kampert's photographs are sold in limited edition.
